Product analytics is about understanding user engagement with a product. It involves answering questions such as who is using the product, how they use it, what they find valuable, and how new features might be received. AI, particularly machine learning (ML), can play an important role in addressing these questions, especially when dealing with large datasets, numerous features, and diverse users.
In this talk, Ahmad will discuss various ML models and how to choose the right model for specific challenges. He will also explore the potential of Generative AI (GenAI) in helping analysts lead better product decisions. The presentation will include real examples from REA Group and Ahmad’s start-up, showcasing practical solutions to real-world problems.

Ahmad Fotovat is a Melbourne-based product and analytics enthusiast. He led the consumer product analytics team at REA Group, helping product teams understand user behaviour and translate that into strategic and product decisions. Prior to this, he co-founded Iran’s leading online real estate agency, transforming it into a market leader with innovative AI-driven solutions. Ahmad’s expertise lies in identifying how data insights and products can have an impact.

This talk will be about Streamlit - a Python based library which enables people to faster build and share data applications. With Streamlit it is easy to build all kinds of web applications: from simple reports to fully dynamical and customisable business dashboards. *Worry not, even if you know nothing of Python - you can still enjoy looking at web apps and hopefully be inspired. In this talk, I will introduce people to Streamlit, make live demonstration how to use Streamlit and present my own journey with Streamlit: - Starting with my for-fun web apps (they are publicly available, as well as their code) - Continuing to my scientific Astronomy apps (they are publicly available, as well as their code) - Concluding with business Apps - where I aim to present use cases and some insights learned along the way.
About me:
I'm Analytics Manager at Tribalism, and for the past 3 years at Tribalism I've been dealing with all things related to data. Majority of my work is related to web tagging, dashboard building, code writing, and delivering actionable insights to various clients.
Previously, I've been in academia, where I obtained PhD in Astrophysics from Swinburne University. My research was on the evolution of galaxies in the HI-rich group environment. In translation: I used radio telescopes, physics and simulations to gain insight into specific galaxies.
